本日の一品は、本場フランスのポトフならぬ、日本風ポトフ。Today’s dish is a Japanese-style Pot-au-Feu, inspired by authentic French Pot-au-Feu

A French Dish Made Quick & Easy with Japanese Consommé Powder

平均的に涼しくなってきたこの頃、この間買ってあったコンソメパウダーを使って、温まるポトフを作ることにした。旦那様は肉類がソーセージだけでは物足りないようで、鶏肉入れてとリクエストがあったので、骨付き肉を切って入れた。チキンの出汁も出ていっそう美味しくなった。Recently, as it has become cooler on average, I decided to make a warming pot-au-feu using the consommé powder I had bought the other day. My husband seemed unsatisfied with just the sausages, so he requested chicken, and I added some bone-in meat. The chicken broth also added more flavor, making it even more delicious.


コンソメをいちから作るとなると、それなりの材料、時間が必要だ。その分を家庭のスープ作りには、このコンソメパウダーが味のベースとして活躍してくれる。味の素社の顆粒バージョンだ。コクがあって美味😋。そこに、入れる具材の旨みも加わって、さらに美味しくなる。When making consommé from scratch, it requires a fair amount of ingredients and time. This consommé powder serves as a flavor base for home soup making. It’s the granulated version from Ajinomoto. Rich and delicious 😋. The umami from the ingredients added enhances the flavor even more.

私的なポトフのイメージだが、パリッと粗挽きソーセージ、玉ねぎ、ニンジン、ジャガイモ、キャベツが入っているスープ。幼い頃からもうOO年も、ポトフとはこういうものだと思ってきた。ついさほどまでは。(笑🤭)It is an image of a personal pot-au-feu, a soup filled with crispy, coarsely ground sausage, onions, carrots, potatoes, and cabbage. For OO years since childhood, I’ve thought that pot-au-feu is supposed to be like this. Until recently. 🤭

本場のポトフとはどう食されるのか、今更、疑問に思い調べてみたところ、とても興味深い内容だった。本場の食べ方は、スープと具材は別々に頂くのだ。しかも、主は牛肉。肉と野菜は大皿に盛り、切り分けてから、フレンチマスタード、粗塩、牛の骨髄なども添えて頂く。スープは、鍋から濾して器に入れ、そのままスープとして頂く。フランスではこういうふうに食べられるのだ、と知識が一つ増えた。勉強になった。I explored how authentic pot-au-feu is traditionally consumed, and I found it to be quite fascinating. The proper way to eat it is to enjoy the soup and ingredients separately. The main feature is beef, and the meat along with vegetables is served on a large platter, sliced and accompanied by French mustard, coarse salt, and beef marrow. The soup is strained from the pot into a bowl and enjoyed as is. I gained a new piece of knowledge about how this is eaten in France. I learned something new.

ということで、本日は、”日本風のポトフ”、を食した。これはこれで旨し😋。So, today I had “Japanese-style pot-au-feu.” It was delicious in its own way 😋.

また機会があったら、本場フランスのポトフ、食べてみよう!I would like to try the authentic French pot-au-feu if I get the chance!
